FAQS
To achieve optimal results, it is recommended to let the hair grow up to ¼ inch before waxing. This will ensure that the wax can efficiently remove the hair.
Rest assured, our Wax Specialists will take care of everything and walk you through our 4 Steps to Smooth process. We kindly request that you arrive promptly for your appointment.
Guests under the age of 16 who wish to receive bikini waxing services at American Wax Center must have parental consent. On a positive note, there is no age limit when it comes to receiving our services – people of all ages are welcome!
Certainly, we can provide waxing services for you even during your menstrual cycle. It is important to note that the area may be more sensitive than usual, and you may experience slightly more discomfort. To ensure a successful service, we kindly request that you wear a tampon during the appointment.
Explore our waxing options for the bikini area: Bikini Line is a basic tidy, removing hair from the sides and top. Bikini (Full) lets you customize the front, leaving as much or little as you prefer. Bikini Brazilian goes from front to back, and you can choose between a completely nude look or a neat triangle on the front.
The duration of your waxing results may differ for every individual, but they usually last between 3 to 4 weeks. If you wish to prolong your smooth skin, feel free to ask our Wax Specialist for advice on the appropriate products to maintain your results.
The degree of discomfort during waxing can differ depending on the person. Nevertheless, our licensed Wax Specialists make sure your comfort is a priority and use our exclusive Comfort Wax to provide a nearly painless experience. Esteemed magazines and reviewers have commended its effectiveness.

Congratulations! It is still possible to wax during pregnancy, but please be aware that hormonal changes may cause your skin to be more sensitive. Our Wax Specialists will take care of your comfort during the service. If you are in the last two months of pregnancy, it is best to consult with your doctor beforehand.
If you had a basic facial involving a cleanse, steam, exfoliation, and mask, it is still safe to get a wax service. However, if you had a specialty facial that included deeper exfoliation treatments such as AHA or BHA peels, microdermabrasion, or other intensive procedures, it is recommended to wait at least 7 days before getting a wax service. Before waxing after a medical-grade facial treatment, always consult with your doctor to ensure it is safe to do so.
For the safety of your skin and to avoid any risk of sunburn, it is recommended that you wait for a minimum of 24-48 hours between a waxing and tanning session. Waxing removes dead surface cells, which may lead to an increase in sensitivity to the sun. In the event that you plan to be in the sun within 48 hours of waxing, it is advisable to apply sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher for extra protection.
At our facility, we prioritize your safety and well-being. As such, we do not provide waxing services for skin that is sunburned, irritated, or unhealthy. However, once your skin has healed, we would be pleased to book your next waxing appointment.
We prioritize your well-being and suggest consulting with your doctor if you have any concerns. If you are using prescribed creams, such as Retin-A or Differin, please refrain from using them for 7 days before and after your wax reservation. It’s important to note that we cannot provide waxing services if you are taking Accutane, as it can be hazardous. Please inform our representative of any medications you are taking to ensure a safe waxing experience.
Policy FAQs
At American Wax Center, we are happy to accommodate walk-ins, but to avoid potential wait times and ensure prompt service, we suggest making a reservation. Reserving a spot guarantees that you will be taken care of on time. While we welcome walk-ins, availability may be limited depending on the number of reservations for that day. To secure your preferred time slot and have a smooth experience, we highly recommend making a reservation.
To ensure that our service runs seamlessly and efficiently for all our guests, we have a courtesy call system in place for missed reservations. If you miss your first reservation, we will give you a courtesy call. In case of a second missed reservation, we will inform you about our No Show Policy.
Our No Show Policy states that guests with three or more no-shows within a 6-month period may no longer be able to book reservations over the phone. Instead, they would need to book reservations directly at the store as “walk-in only” guests when they are ready to be serviced.
We understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, so we kindly ask that you give us a call, even at the last minute, to cancel a reservation. Our goal is to provide the best experience for all our valued guests, and we appreciate your understanding in adhering to our reservation policies.
At American Wax Center, we are dedicated to providing exceptional waxing experiences for all our guests. In order to maintain our high standards of service and stay on schedule, we have a late policy in place.
We understand that unexpected circumstances may cause you to be running late for your appointment, and we kindly ask that you give us a call to inform us of any delays. This helps us make the best possible arrangements for you and our other valued guests.
Our late policy is as follows: If you arrive more than 9 minutes late for your reservation, it will be considered a no-show, and we may need to reschedule some or all of your services.
We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to our late policy, as it allows us to continue providing smooth and luxurious waxing experiences for everyone. If you encounter any delays, please do not hesitate to contact us so we can assist you accordingly. Thank you for choosing American Wax Center.
